Welcome to Prayer Closet Images the place that you may view the paintings of the Artist Joan Dance. It is also the place that you may read of the building of the House of God. On today, we have for your viewing pleasure the image entitled “Gleaning Apples”.
In the image we see three youth in the process of Gleaning Apples that have recently fallen from a passing train that was in the process of carrying the apples to market. The youth have piled up what appears to be a good number of apples.
The train is headed on its way piled high with the fruit, and apparently some fruits have fallen out and are falling out as the train hits bumps along the way. “These apples will make good preserves” says one girl to the other girl. “They will help us to make do in the coming winter months”.
This memory painting by the artist Joan Dance took place in her childhood around the year 1944 during the Great War. The length of the girl’s dresses, and the styling of the children’s clothing indicate the dateline. During that time life was harder on the population because of the support of the war effort. The act of gleaning apples was an act of survival. The fruit was dried and canned to make food for the winter.
The Lord God was in control then as He is in control now. The children survived and grew into adults that lived their lives and the hardships of the war years faded into vague memory.
The lesson learned is that the Lord will make a way somehow. We have only to call upon His name and then be ready to listen to His reply to our pleas.
God has promised us that He will never leave nor forsake us
God has promised us in His word that He will never leave, nor will He forsake us. When God makes a promise then that promise is a promise that will be kept. Unlike us that often make promises that are broken one way or the other. We have every intention of keeping the promises that we make but we are not in control of the situation.
However, God is in control of every situation. As the creator of all that is, God knows all things from the start to the finish. His promises always come to pass.
We go through trials and tribulations on a daily basis
In this world that we live, we will experience trials and tribulations on a daily basis. We are to go to the Lord in prayer and ask the Lord God to enter in the situation.
God will always answer each and every prayer. God will say yes, or God will say no, or God will say wait.
God will be with us as promised
God will stay closer to us than a brother. This is a true saying because our physical brother may have to be far away from us from time to time. But God will always be with each one of us at all times. He made the promise, and He carries that promise out.
We are to call on the name of the Lord
Although God knows all things and He knows about the specific problems that we currently are experiencing, we still have to ask the Lord God to enter in the situation. He desires us to communicate with Him in all things. There is nothing to big or to small for the Lord God.
God will bring us through the trials and tribulations
Go to your prayer closet and have a little talk with Jesus. Tell Him all about your sorrow. He’ll hear your faintest cry. He’ll answer by and by. So when you see a little prayer wheel turning and you know a little fire is burning then you’ll find a little talk with Jesus makes it right. You have to pray We are directed to go into our prayer closets and pray to the Lord God and to let Him know what is on our hearts. We are directed to worry about nothing but instead to pray about everything.
