Animule
Welcome to Prayer Closet Images the home of Joan Dance Paintings. On today, we have for your viewing pleasure the image “Animule”. The question has been asked what exactly is an Animule? The Artist Joan Dance has indicated that it is a combination of at least two animals that combine to make a unique animal. In the image we see an animule that has its mouth open with a sound coming out that could indicate anger. Anger leads to murder but not directly, and not all anger makes it to the murder level. Because anger factors in the development of murder, anger must be managed at its start to prevent it from developing into the act of murder.
What is it that provokes an anger that can lead to murder ?
The answer is, disgraceful things, and iniquity, provokes anger that can lead to murder.
Jacob’s daughter Dinah
Now Dinah the daughter of Leah, whom she had borne to Jacob, went out to visit the daughters of the land. When Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the land, saw her, he took her and lay with her by force.
This disgraceful thing that was done by Shechem provoked anger sufficient to incite murder. Hamor offered marriage to heal the wrong, which was accepted, provided that the men of Hamor be circumcised as were the sons of Jacob. Hamor and Shechem accepted this action for their people and while healing from the procedure, they were attacked by two of the sons of Jacob, and the men of Hamor were killed and all their possessions were taken. The resulting bloodshed caused the relocation of Jacob and his family. Even though Hamor thought that he had brought a solution to the situation, the reaction to the solution was a thinly concealed aim to gain vengeance by the sons of Jacob.
Be Ye Angry And Sin Not
An example of being angry and sinning not is the concept of “Righteous Indignation”. Righteous Indignation was illustrated by Jesus in the cleansing of the Temple, Quoting scripture that said, “My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves”.
Righteous Indignation results from reaction to people committing offenses against God.
Let Not The Sun Go Down On Your Wrath
Righteous Indignation is to be briefly held, and not to continue for long but it is to be contained.
This admonition is needed to show how anger can be controlled so as not to allow anger to get the best of us. To let not the sun go down on our wrath, we have to control that anger quickly. Anger unchecked results in undesirable effects. God wants us to apply the advice that He has given us in the scriptures.
Let Not Anger Cause You To Sin
Be angry but don’t sin, means that while it is understandable to feel anger, control of that anger is vital. Anger must never be allowed to run rampant. When anger runs rampant, murder is a possibility. There has to be a way to curtail that anger that we feel from time to time, and to bring it back under control.
Conclusion
The thing that we need to do concerning anger is to know what it is and what it can do. Anger must then be contained by an opposing thought that negates it. That opposing thought must have the ability to control the anger. The one thing that has that ability is Love. It has been said that Love covers a multitude of sin. Love is also said to have the ability to always succeed since it is said that “Love never fails”. Apply Love to the onset of anger and watch as anger dissolves into nothingness. How is love applied ? Love is patient, which means that to apply patience to anger is to apply love, since patience equals love. To apply patience is to apply long-suffering to anger. Long-suffering is painful yet the results are applied patience, which is pure Love. Long-suffering is to hold the idea of Love even while suffering, and the idea of Love will result in the nullification of the anger that is present. Apply love to anger when you find that you are in the grip of anger. To not do so is to allow anger to run it’s coarse, and that will not be desirable.
The thing that caused anger in the first place will still be there, and will still have to be dealt with, but the back of anger will at that time be broken, and the result is a nullification of anger and a return to normal. The emotion of anger is a tough emotion indeed yet it can be conquered, and the thing that is sufficient to conquer the emotion is shown to be Love.
Be angry, but sin not – is one of my favourite bible verses. Although it sounds like a silent bible instruction, it is direct. Anger must come, but do not harbour it and allow it to degenerate to the point of sin or murder. Anger can help correct and same time it can destroy. It becomes destructive when you ruminate on it.
Thanks Parameter you are spot on anger is a dangerous emotion.
